WOOLAVINGTON WI APRIL MEETING
2016
Sadly our speaker from Collective Legal Solutions failed to turn up for his talk on Tax, Wills and Toy boys which was a great shame as not only were we interested in the first two subjects but also looking forward to learning the relevance of Toy Boys in this context. As not many of us have one should we be thinking of doing so! The question remains unanswered.
However in the true tradition of WI the President and Committee kept calm and carried on, being well prepared with contingency plans. These were in fact not required as we had a lively evening discussing the Resolutions, nominations to be put forward for the Annual meeting next month, future plans, book sale and most importantly, refreshments when all engaged in social chat and catchup with friends.
The evening closed with a rousing rendition of the National Anthem as a mark of appreciation to Her Majesty on attaining her 90th Birthday
Next month we welcome Dave Greenway, Glastonbury Town Crier who will speak after the business of the Annual Meeting.
June promises to be a fun evening as we indulge in wine-tasting, courtesy of Majestic Wines and once again we shall mark the Queen's birthday, this time her official one, in raising a glass and the wearing of red, white and blue.
