The much anticipated visit to ‘Burns The Bread’ in Glastonbury was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. The evening started with a welcoming glass of wine and a brief history of the family-run business. We were then given a masterclass in pasty crimping followed by the opportunity to demonstrate our own skills. Whilst our pasties were cooking we were taken on an informative tour of the premises and given an insight into the workings of the traditional bakery. We were treated to a delicious buffet of savoury and sweet nibbles on our return from the tour as we anxiously awaited the results of the pasty competition. Congratulations to Anne Craig whose crimping was judged to be the best! We would like to extend our thanks to Bob Burns and his grandson Casey for their hospitality.
