WOOLAVINGTON WI DECEMBER 2016 MEETING REPORT
Due to our meetings being held on the third Tuesday of each month December’s took place in Christmas week. Festive fun was therefore the order of the day (evening!) when members arrived at a beautifully decorated Village Hall for a seasonal party.
Three tables laden with finger food provided a splendid feast to open the evening. There was a varied selection of sweet and savoury together with home made mince pies and Corena's beautifully iced Christmas cake.
Various games followed and carols were sung. An interactive version of The Holly and The Ivy with a choir of 15 and audience participation involved assorted headgear and items such as knitting needles, paper crown, cotton wool balls, red knitting wool. The chorus required an orange Frisbee and two members sporting reindeer antlers to drum their feet. These last got rather overexcited at one point setting off down the hall hand in hand, antlers jingling. The left and right game caused much merriment as apparently it was even more difficult to follow instructions when everyone had a parcel to pass.
Members received a Christmas card giving details of plans for 2017 and a small gift of an inscribed pen.
Our next meeting is an invitation only Burns night celebration with the Scottish Dancers but all are welcome on February 21st when Emma Duke will demonstrate her Driftwood art.
