WOOLAVINGTON WI MEETING REPORT JULY 2018
A good attendance for our July meeting with a change to the normal seating arrangements! We sat in a horseshoe to allow everyone to be able to participate in the evening's entertainment.
Following a rousing rendition of Jerusalem, Teresa reminded members of forthcoming events including SCFWI Annual Meeting, President's Tea, Friday and Sunday lunch clubs, theatre trips and fun skittles.
Following the business meeting, our speaker for this month Janet McNeil was welcomed. Janet brought with her an extensive collection of scarves and a number of amusing anecdotes from her time working on cruise ships. She gave us lots of hints and tips on where to buy scarves including charity shops and in markets when on holiday. The demonstration (with accompanying handout) was fun and informative and gave us lots of ideas of how to turn a simple scarf or pashmina into something stylish for any occasion. There was an opportunity at the end for members to test out what they'd learned with their own scarves - Doris mastered the 'bandit' style whilst Anne modelled the 'jacket'.
