WOOLAVINGTON WI MEETING REPORT JANUARY 2019
January’s meeting gave members an opportunity to join forces with the Woolavington Scottish Dancers and celebrate Burns night in a traditional way albeit a little early! The evening’s entertainment started with a brief introduction to Robert Burns followed by the first of three instalments of a Scottish themed quiz. Following this, members were able to join the Scottish Dancers in two traditional dances. The second instalment of the quiz preceded the delicious savoury and desserts buffet that included, of course, haggis. Having sated ourselves, the evening’s entertainment continued with a Whisky Roll, more quiz questions and a final very special dance – a jig written in honour of the evening called ‘The Woolavington WI Rant’. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and special thanks to the Woolavington Scottish Dancers for their contribution.
