March 2013 - Members Night
There was an excellent turnout for the March meeting which was a Members’ Night when the committee is given a well deserved evening off. Dorothy Stokes and Hazel Lovell entertained us with a musical quiz based on the songs they played on their electronic organs. It was great fun and the eventual winner was Mo who also gave the vote of thanks.
Many members had provided an delicious spread of cakes, scones and sandwiches to enjoy during the break. Hilary, who was President for the night, announced that Eveline’s 'Do it for Denman' afternoon tea had raised £90 for the “Do it for Denman” fund. Hilary also thanked the committee for their hard work during the year and each one was presented with a beautiful rose corsage.
The following day there was an outing to the Bristol Hippodrome to see the Dolly Parton musical “9 to 5” which was greatly enjoyed by all.
Our next meeting, on 16th April at 7.30pm, will include a talk on herbal medicine by Maggie Pope.
New members are always welcome.
