Woolavington WI Somerset
2015 was the National WI Centenary year, when I suggested we paint the Village Bus Shelters several members came along to a plan and design meeting with some great ideas.
I sought sponsorship for the project and the weather not being too kind we held off until this year. Villages Together Big Local, EDF and Dulux Decoration Centre Bridgwater all provided funding. A huge thank you to them.
The last piece was completed today 30th September when the sponsors names and all you ladies that were fantastically creative with the art work were added.
A massive thank you goes to Dawn, Doris, Sue and Eveline, not forgetting Robert my WISH he's a stalwart of a husband who's scrubbed, sanded, power washed, dug out soil and painted behind the bus shelter generally helping throughout the project over the last 3 weeks.
We have had so many appreciative comments from Villagers and passers-by. Everyone involved has said what a fun time it has been. Eveline has surprised herself with what she accomplished with our Woolavington WI banner and Dawn's teapot has had many admiring glances. All things WI, tea cups and banners adorn the once very dull and grimy bus shelter.
Well Done Ladies
